Welcome to THE WORLD, THROUGH MY EYES. In this episode, I take you to Stockholm, Sweden.
I have never been to Sweden before. So before we went to Amsterdam, we spent a week in Sweden. 4 Days in Stockholm and 3 days in Gothenburg.
Stockholm is the capital and most populous city of Sweden as well as the largest urban area in the Nordic countries. Approximately 1 million people live in the municipality, with 1.6 million in the urban area, and 2.4 million in the metropolitan area. The city stretches across fourteen islands where Lake Mälaren flows into the Baltic Sea. The area has been settled since the Stone Age, in the 6th millennium BC, and was founded as a city in 1252 by Swedish statesman Birger Jarl. (Wikipedia)
We stayed in the Gamla Stan (Old City) section of Stockholm. Gamla stan is the old town of Stockholm, Sweden. Gamla stan consists primarily of the island Stadsholmen. The town dates back to the 13th century, and consists of medieval alleyways, cobbled streets, and archaic architecture. North German architecture has had a strong influence in the Old Town’s construction. (Wikipedia)
We enjoyed our time very much. The food was amazing and getting around was quite easy. I highly recommend a visit if you are ever in Europe. I hope you enjoy these photos of Stockholm. I will share pictures of Gothenburg in a follow up post. Thanks, again, for seeing THE WORLD, THROUGH MY EYES.
